[  About Perimeter  ]

Where expertise meets creativity.

perimeter specializes in adaptive re-use, infill, re-development, mixed-use and new greenfield projects that have a singular signature: they are the needed spark for urban revival in the master planning strategies of creative, forward-thinking cities.

Established by founding partner David Gibson in 2010, Perimeter's business activities include the identification and acquisition of viable real estate opportunities; preparation of site and architectural concepts; securing municipal approvals and permits; engaging contractors; and managing the development process through to building completion. As owners, Perimeter is directly involved in the leasing and operation of its properties.

Perimeter has established a reputation for its ability to acquire and uncover the hidden potential of underutilized or vacant mixed use properties primarily in downtown core areas. With surgical precision, the company provides an exterior facelift and complete interior makeovers that create opportunities for new tenancies looking to take advantage of a wide amenity and service base available within revitalized downtowns.

Our Projects

The Breithaupt Block

Reclaimed from the past, adapted for the future, The Breithaupt Block is a premier office development located in the Warehouse District of downtown Kitchener. An early 20th century industrial building once home to a rubber factory, this six-building, 4.5 acre block interconnects lively, light-filled spaces that are grounded in historical century brick and beam construction. The Breithaupt Block has been lovingly restored, revitalized and renewed to become a fully modern space for businesses to thrive. With 178,000 sq ft of intelligently designed urban office space and its fortuitous location, adjacent to Waterloo Region’s future multimodal transportation hub, makes this complex the most coveted address in the Region.

57 Main Street

he old Galt section of Cambridge is revival at its finest. When Perimeter discovered a beautiful but neglected block of eight buildings ripe for development, they knew they had found their ideal opportunity for urban renewal. With Galt’s unique combination of picturesque Grand River access and views along with handsome, architecturally significant buildings plus close proximity to the Region’s premier residential neighbourhoods and UW’s School of Architecture, 60 Main Street is the new hotspot address in the City. The investment into adapting these buildings into coveted retail and office space — along with luxury apartments for discriminating city lovers — will be a lasting contribution to the urban landscape. Stylish, urban living comes to Galt with 8 new apartments located on the upper floors of 57 Main St. Each apartment is unique and feature high ceilings, hardwood floors, exposed brick, gourmet kitchens with granite counters and bathrooms featuring marble and stone finishes. Each suite is self-contained with in-suite laundry and high-end appliances.

What We Do.

we uncover the hidden potential of under-used and vacant properties and transform them in to vibrant retail, commercial and office space that inspire communities

In this new economy, we seek out areas of diversity, density, turn-of-the-century (19th & 20th) architecture and vacant industrial/mixed use spaces, in addition to new development opportunities. Our inventive development of historical, heritage and industrial spaces has helped create viable districts in cities that attract economic and creative innovation while encouraging

diversity and community. Perimeter leverages its partners' significant development, leasing and financial expertise along with a genuine enthusiasm to create the futurescape of thriving cities. We work closely with municipal planners and urban visionaries to engage community support and tap into the professional, technological, creative and cultural clusters to develop our urban assets.
